About Mincon

Mincon has its home base in Shannon, a relatively new and vibrant town situated in the picturesque West of Ireland, with an international Airport offering excellent communication facilities to most parts of the world. The Company was founded in 1977 to produce state-of-the-art engineered Rock Drills and associated parts.  From its inception,
Mincon has had a clear vision and determined focus giving priority towards:

Those same values remain within the company today, and Mincon is proud to be up with the best and not running with the rest. Maintaining these values has been achieved in two main ways. Firstly, a modern manufacturing facility was developed through scheduled plant replacement with the latest machine tools and in-house heat treatment capabilities.  Secondly, and more importantly, retaining top class employees coupled with continuous training has ensured that Mincon is at the fore of Rock Drill manufacturing, sales and service.

Our Corporate strategy is to make the customer the focal point of everything we do, and through a World Class Business approach, meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. In the latter part of the 1990’s, we began production of a new generation range of “Down-the-Hole” Hammers and now this top quality equipment is bringing a whole host of advantages to the rock drill industry in terms of: increased drilling speeds, longer service life, greater reliability with ease of maintenance and maximum operating cost effectiveness. All of this is due to our superior designs, unique processes and the highest engineering standards, coupled with a rigorous quality control culture and an excellent understanding of the demanding and diverse conditions in which our hammers are expected to work. The new Mincon Hammers developed rapidly over a relatively short period, simply by listening to what drillers themselves expect from the Hammer and then by using this valuable information and incorporating much of it into the final designs.  In 2003 we added DTH Drill Bits to our range of products.  As with the Hammers, the Drill Bits have quickly established themselves among the world leaders.

The same Mincon philosophy of quality and performance also applies to the Drill Bits which are manufactured in the United States.  We continually strive to give the driller the best products to enable them to achieve the highest productivity possible for their investment. Since the introduction of this range of hammers, we were busy developing the next generation of hammers.  During 2004 we launched the “New Standard in DTH Drilling with the Xtreme Performance range and are currently testing another range of hammers that will raise the bar even higher. What makes Mincon unique and the hammers and drill bits so much better is tht we always listen to those who use the equipment, which is why Mincon has now become - "The Driller's Choice".
